This transformer is used to supply the low voltage for Carrier, Bryant and Payne air handler, gas furnace, air conditioner and heat pump applications. While doing DIY repairs such as changing the transformer make sure all power has been disconnected.
Transformer failures are always caused by some type of external problem and is most usually related to some type of issue with the 24 Volt control circuit. The issue must be addressed before installing the low voltage transformer or the replacement part will fail as soon as power is applied.
